Top Selections of 2020: Highlights from Just a Girl Blog

It’s that wonderful time of the year! My favorite things of 2020 post has arrived, and I might just be more excited about it than you? 🙂 I enjoy reflecting on the past year to discover what I genuinely cherish…and then justifying the expense by penning a post. Ha!

Shall we dive right in?

  • Hmm. Is it wrong to kick things off with a drink? I’m a massive fan of eggnog, and when I tasted this Evan Williams eggnog at a family Christmas gathering a few years back, it was a total game-changer! It’s robust (in my opinion), making it a fantastic sip throughout the night!
  • This compact heater is now my closest companion! I’ve relied on an old one for years in my classroom, but it finally gave out. I adore this heater so much that I took it home from school for my virtual teaching. It oscillates, has two heat levels, and even features a cool fan for when those heat waves strike! Oy vey.
  • I know. It resembles a computer mouse. But this device! It’s a SILENT computer mouse! I keep my laptop in my living room, and I enjoy being on my computer while watching television. The clicking noise was becoming quite bothersome. I worried this wouldn’t work properly, but it’s fantastic!
  • I cherish the Raskog utility cart from Ikea to the extent that I own three of them. The possibilities are endless, and I had to have this green one. Simply due to its hue.
  • This personalized puzzle is so beloved that I’m on the verge of purchasing my third one within a year! It was the ideal way to keep us entertained during quarantine, and it has become a cherished activity at family gatherings!
  • Alright, listen up. I’ve been a fan of Victoria Emerson bracelets for quite a while. But when she released Apple watch bands????? Every. single. time someone spots them on me, I receive a compliment. The one I have is shown above. And I may have just snagged another one.
  • I began adding this powdered collagen to my coffee about a year ago, and it transformed my hair dramatically. I was experiencing hair loss like CRAZY, and it was genuinely troubling me—panic-level troubling. I toss one (flavorless) scoop into my morning coffee, and that drastic shedding has ceased! Now I can’t live without it.
  • My pale skin always craves a self-tanner during winter. My daughter uses this Isle of Paradise, and I “borrowed” it. It’s wonderful! I suggest applying it and blending it with a daily moisturizer for optimal coverage; it’s incredibly natural!
  • We recently constructed a shed in our backyard, which motivated me to finally establish a cut flower garden (ten years after I initially wanted one, but who’s counting?) Floret Farm’s Cut Flower Garden book has been an indispensable resource for me! I’ve marked pages, highlighted lines, taken notes…and honestly—the photographs are gorgeous!
  • For all my tall ladies out there, I saved the best for last. Long leggings! I’m 5’9″, and I estimate my legs to be about 5’7″ of that height. I’ve never been able to wear leggings without tall boots because I couldn’t find them long enough. These leggings are phenomenal! I bought the 34″ inseam, but they go up to 36 inches! They’re also high-waisted and fit beautifully. You’re welcome.

PHEW! I’m pretty sure all this typing has fulfilled my blogging quota for the year. I’m wiped out. Ha! I hope you found something appealing from my selections! If you’re interested in what my friends are suggesting, here are some links for you! They’re for sure making me fill up my shopping carts, that’s for sure!
