I’m genuinely taken aback that I don’t appear more disheveled in this snapshot because roughly 20 minutes prior to capturing it, I tumbled down the hill in our cul-de-sac like a character straight out of a Looney Tunes cartoon!
No kidding, I completely rolled down a hill. We reside in a neighborhood abundant with oak trees that drop these enormous acorns, and while I was escorting Connor down the hill to school, I guess I wasn’t entirely focused on where my feet were landing, so when I stepped on an acorn, which was pretty much like stepping on a giant marble, my right ankle twisted beneath me.
This triggered a series of events leading to my collapse onto the ground, and just as I made contact with the pavement, I instinctively curled into a ball, which then resulted in me tumbling further down the steep hill while clinging onto Connor’s little pink backpack for dear life!
To be honest, I’ve reached a stage in life where I’m just grateful that if I fall, 1) I can actually get back up, and 2) I still have all my teeth intact, so thank you, Goddesses of the Universe, for looking out for me. Otherwise, this selfie could’ve appeared quite different, OMG!
In summary, I’m wearing Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oil in Happy, which is a cool pink shade. Oh, and my ankle has a bit of bruising. Thankfully, it’s not sprained.
This lip color will permanently be etched in my memory as the shade I wore the day I rolled down the hill.
And there’s one more unusual thing about it. Everything seemed to unfold in slow motion, like I floated out of my body and watched the entire event transpire while it was occurring. So bizarre!
Anyway, my coworker noticed my limp and inquired about what had happened, and after sharing all the juicy details, she went on to tell me an even wilder story about a time she fell and rolled down a hill.
She resides in San Francisco on a very steep hill, and while she was walking her dogs, they encountered two rambunctious puppies with extremely poor manners (she named the puppies “Menace” and “Mischief”). Somehow her dogs and Menace and Mischief ended up in a tussle, and she found herself rolling down the hill in her pajamas and landing in a substantial pile of dog poop.
Rolling down hills, I absolutely do not recommend!
