Top Selections of 2021: Notable Mentions from Just a Girl Blog

Okay, I understand. I rarely post. Please stop the complaints. Actually, do feel free to complain at me! We need to get this journey back on track, right? Let me kick things off with one of my top (and rare) posts of the year—my favorite things!!

If there’s a single thing I truly enjoy, it’s shopping. Therefore, narrowing down my favorites was tougher than I imagined. Just to clarify—I ADORE every item I’m about to mention. I take this post quite seriously. Ha!

If that’s not a mix of random items, I don’t know what is! Leggings! Highlighters! Toilet lever! Wait, what? Allow me to clarify…

Favorite Things 2021

  • Gold Toilet Lever: Yes. It transformed my toilet experience! Wait. It improved my toilet’s experience. That’s more accurate. Trust me on this one. It might seem small, but it makes a big impact, especially in a compact bathroom.
  • Gold Initial Necklace: To be honest, a couple of these are favorites of my daughter, so I included them. For what it’s worth, I’m a high school teacher, and all the girls are sporting these necklaces. They are so lovely, aren’t they?
  • Countertop Ice Machine: We have a full basement bar, but we were missing the ice required for entertaining. This ice machine has a sleek profile, is super quiet, and produces all the ice we could want! AND I’m thrilled with the price!
  • Smartphone Tripod: I absolutely love this gadget! It’s a lifesaver when we need to take group photos!
  • Tinkle Razors: I adore these so much that I hand them out to friends like sweets! They effortlessly remove that pesky fuzz from your face! Sounds terrible, but believe me. Your makeup goes on smoother, your moisturizer applies easier, and I find that my bronzer works better too!
  • Leggings: This is yet another favorite of my daughter’s. I felt like I was seeing them pop up in my Amazon cart constantly, so I double-checked. She has FIVE pairs of these! They come in such beautiful colors, so I understand why she loves them.
  • Greeting Card Organizer: I gushed about this on Instagram, and I’m definitely recommending you get one. If you’re a last-minute person like I am, this is incredibly handy! Running late for a graduation party? Just grab and go! Thank you, little card box.
  • Slimming Swimsuit: Look. I’m no fashion expert. But when I put this suit on, I received countless compliments. It’s especially flattering on me when I keep said body submerged in water. 🙂 Seriously though—very stunning!
  • Makeup Mirror: Another treasure of Little Miss. She purchased this for her dimly-lit dorm room, and she can’t stop praising it. Her roommate has one too.
  • Travel Jewelry Organizer: I’ve been lucky to travel quite a bit, and I’ve gained a keen sense of what functions well and what doesn’t. This item is fantastic! I don’t wear much jewelry, so I never thought I needed this. Uh, I was mistaken.
  • Family Passport Wallet: Speaking of travel…I can’t fathom how I managed without this! Anyone who has ever traveled internationally with kids is all “Absolutely! This is a game-changer!” and they’re absolutely right.
  • Hair Claw Clips: Raise a hand if you have fine, slippery hair. *Raises hand. NOTHING stays in my hair, and it drives me crazy! My daughter bought these, and when I saw how effective they were, I quickly grabbed a couple for myself. Score!
  • Pastel Highlighters: Oh my goodness. Where were these during my high school years?! These highlighters are the best school/work/life tool I’ve bought in YEARS. I adore them and use them every. single. day.

If you made it through that entire list, you deserve a gold star! I’d bet my money on my sister-in-law being the only one who actually read it. xoxo Ha!

Looking for more favorite things? Check this out!

Wow. I suppose I’ve been doing these for a while now! I think I might be missing a few, but these favorites truly never fade! Enjoy browsing!

Favorite Things 2014 highlighted the eyeshadow palette that revolutionized my makeup routine.

Favorite Things 2016 featured the camera upgrade that I have cherished ever since. It remains my favorite gadget!

Who knows where 2015 and 2017 disappeared to?

FV 2018 was the year of Harry Styles (and every year since) and the best popcorn hack I’ve ever tried.

FV 2019 featured two posts (perhaps to compensate for “15 and ‘17?) and included the makeup setting spray that I gift each Christmas and the daily moisturizer that has also become my husband’s favorite!

And 2020 brought the Victoria Emerson watch band that garners compliments every. single. day and collagen powder that prevented my hair from thinning! I’m serious.

Some of the best bloggers I know have also shared their favorite items, and I have a feeling my bank account is in trouble! My friend Sarah at Thrifty Decor Chick has organized this hop for years, and it’s one of my favorite activities! (See what I did there?) Be sure to check them all out!
