Reasons the NYC Marathon Serves as the Premier Inspiration for Both Runners and Spectators

How is everyone feeling about the election tomorrow? I saw a post on Instagram that described it as “nauseously optimistic,” which pretty much captures the sentiment in our home at the moment.

This weekend, though, the energy was elevated by the NYC Marathon, which always feels like one of the most magnificent days in the city.

Everyone unites…

…people are so funny…

…and incredibly strong.

The vibes are AMAZING.

I adored this duo — her shirt reads “Erica,” his shirt reads “Go Erica,” and he’s sporting a sign with her face, perhaps post-run? Pre-run? When signing up for the marathon? Whatever the scenario, I love it.

My friend Liz participated for Fred’s Team to fundraise for cancer research, honoring her cherished friend Zophie.

Isn’t the sign her kids made of her large smile just fantastic?

What a marvelous, uplifting day. There are wonderful people in the world; as Fred Rogers suggests, seek out the helpers. Fingers crossed tightly for tomorrow. xoxoxoxo

P.S. Thoughtful words, and what sparks are you noticing these days? Also, “how stage four cancer taught me how to truly live.”
