Vacuuming, although to be truthful, I’m not sure why I even bother to keep the floors tidy. With pets, friends, and family coming and going, it’s a fight I just can’t seem to win.

For me, there are three key elements. First, I have to address basic needs like ensuring I’m not hungry or parched, that I’ve brushed my teeth, and gotten out of my pajamas, those sorts of things. Second, I must create a to-do list; otherwise, I’ll waste my time. The third is a gentle reminder that I can’t control others; I just tell myself this. It’s been liberating.
