For many years, I’ve openly embraced my identity as a quirky cat lady, and last Saturday, I discovered my community at Mini Cat Town in San Rafael.
Mini Cat Town serves as a non-profit sanctuary for kitten adoptions located in the Santa Rosa Plaza, approximately 45 minutes north of my home in Marin County. Cats wander freely in a spacious room, mingling with cat enthusiasts and prospective adopters.
To spend time with the cats, a nominal fee is required for entry, granting you 30 minutes to play and interact.
How I managed to walk away without adopting one or two or five or ten kittens remains a mystery to me, LOL!
I was immediately captivated by a charming orange tabby named Teddy! Just take a look at his adorable face. He’s definitely a meow-dal.
He was incredibly sweet, playful, and sociable; when I picked him up, he instantly melted into my embrace, reminiscent of how Tabs used to be.
For a brief moment, I wondered if Tabs was perhaps sending me another soul cat. It kind of felt that way, but then I remembered my ongoing feelings of being overwhelmed with my current family (both human and furry), and I snapped back to reality.
But then I thought, “What difference does it make to add one more cat when my home is already filled with pets?” Hahaha! It’s truly challenging not to take all the adorable fur babies home.
