"Highlights of 2021: A Year in Reflection"

Alright, I understand. I seldom post. Please stop the shouting! Actually, I’d appreciate a bit of a shout! We need to get this party started again, don’t we? Let’s kick things off with one of my favorite and only posts of the year—my favorite things!!

If there’s something I really enjoy, it’s shopping. Thus, narrowing down my list was more difficult than anticipated. Just to clarify—I absolutely ADORE every item I’m sharing. I take this post with utmost seriousness. Haha!

If that’s not a collection of random items, I don’t know what is! Leggings! Highlighters! Toilet lever! Hold on, what? Let me clarify…

Favorite Things 2021

  • Gold Toilet Lever: Yes. It revolutionized my toilet experience! Wait. It actually transformed my toilet’s experience. That makes more sense. Trust me on this one. It’s a minor yet significant change for a compact bathroom especially.
  • Gold Initial Necklace: To be honest, some of these are my daughter’s favorites, so I thought I’d include them. For the record, I’m a high school teacher, and all the girls are rocking these necklaces. Aren’t they lovely?
  • Countertop Ice Machine: We own a full bar in the basement, but we were short on ice for serving drinks. This ice machine has a slim profile, it’s whisper-quiet, and it produces all the ice we require! AND the price is fantastic!
  • Smart Phone Tripod: Goodness, I adore this gadget! It’s a lifesaver whenever we’re attempting to capture a group photo!
  • Tinkle Razors: I’m so fond of these that I hand them out to my friends like treats! They swiftly remove that fine fuzz from your face! Sounds dreadful, but believe me. Your makeup goes on smoother, your moisturizer spreads better, and I find that my tanning bronzer applies more effectively too!
  • Leggings: This is another one my daughter treasures. I felt like I kept finding them in my Amazon cart, so I did a quick check. She has FIVE pairs of these! They come in the most beautiful shades, so I can’t blame her.
  • Greeting Card Organizer: I hyped this up on Instagram, and I wholeheartedly recommend you get one. If you’re like me and tend to leave things to the last minute, this is a lifesaver! Running late for a graduation party? Just grab it and go! Thank you, little card organizer.
  • Slimming Swimsuit: Look. I’m not a fashion influencer. But when this body slipped into that swimsuit, I received an avalanche of compliments. It looks especially flattering when I keep said body submerged underwater. 🙂 Seriously, though—it’s stunning!
  • Makeup Mirror: Another beloved item of Little Miss. She secured this for her dimly lit dorm, and she praises it endlessly. Her roommate has one too.
  • Travel Jewelry Organizer: I’ve been lucky to travel a lot in my life, and I’ve developed a sharp sense of what works and what doesn’t. This organizer is fantastic! I don’t wear much jewelry, so I previously thought I didn’t need one. I was mistaken.
  • Family Passport Wallet: Speaking of travel…I have no clue how I managed without this! Anyone who’s ever traveled internationally with children knows, “Amen! This thing is revolutionary!” and they are spot on.
  • Hair Claw Clips: Raise your hand if you have fine, slippery hair. *Raises hand.* NOTHING stays put in my hair, and it’s extremely annoying! My daughter picked these up, and upon seeing their effectiveness, I quickly grabbed a couple. Score!
  • Pastel Highlighters: Oh dear. Where were these during my high school days?! These highlighters are the best academic/work/life tool I’ve acquired in YEARS. I cherish them and use them every single day.

If you’ve made it through that entire post, you earn a gold star! I’ll bet my hard-earned cash that my sister-in-law is the only one who actually read it. xoxo Haha!

Hankering for more favorite things? Look here!

Wow. I suppose I’ve been doing these for quite a while! I think I might have forgotten a few, but these favorites truly never fall out of style! Enjoy browsing around!

Favorite Things 2014 was when I introduced the eyeshadow palette that transformed my makeup routine.

Favorite Things 2016 I upgraded my camera and never looked back. It’s still my favorite toy!

Who even knows what happened to 2015 and 2017?

FV 2018 marked the year of Harry Styles (and every year since) and the ultimate popcorn hack I’ve ever bought.

FV 2019 I posted twice (must be my way of making up for “15 and ’17?) and included the makeup setting spray that I present every Christmas and the daily moisturizer that my husband has grown to love too!

And 2020 featured the Victoria Emerson watch band that garners comments every. single. day, alongside collagen powder that prevented my hair from falling out! I’m not kidding.

Several of the best bloggers I know have also shared their favorite items, and I can already foresee a hit to my budget! My friend Sarah at Thrifty Decor Chick has been hosting this event for years, and it’s one of my favorite things! (Catch that pun?) Be sure to check them all out!
