Times are tough right now, and it’s often said that everyone is coping with their own struggles, so let’s turn this into a gentle refuge today. What has brought a smile to your face lately? Dogs? Kids? Hunter Harris’s newsletter?
I’ll start…
1. Seeing a yellow Lamborghini in Brooklyn with the plate “U UP”
2. This amazing woman’s magic performance.
3. On The White Lotus, an American in Thailand (spoiler alert!) during a romantic scene says, “Just so you know, I’m just, I’m, this is consent… do you all do that here? We just started.” We just started, I laughed and cried at the same time.
4. Everything Aminatou Sow writes, especially this take on swimsuits: “After sharing about my beach trip, I received a few questions on swimsuits and honestly, you should seek recommendations elsewhere. Here’s my perspective. The intricacies of women’s swimwear frustrate me, yet I’ve found solace in sorting them into two categories: display suits and water-friendly suits. Like this high-leg one is super fun, but don’t even think about clicking the link if you feel self-conscious about your hips or pubic hair. It’s simply not for you, and that’s perfectly fine. Conversely, here is an excellent sun-safe, water-ready suit. It also works great as a display suit. A very powerful look. Very supportive of Islam, and we appreciate that here.”
5. Sharing a story with my honorary niece Georgie, while she keeps making this facial expression. Adore that toddler focus.
Your turn! Sending love and hugs to anyone who could use one. xoxo
P.S. Four TV moments that had us in stitches and my top Instagram funnyman. xoxo
# Share Something That Has Made You Laugh Recently
Laughter unites us, lifts our spirits, and offers health perks as well. Whether it’s a amusing meme, a funny tale, or an unexpected punchline, sharing laughs can illuminate someone’s day.
Not long ago, I found myself in a situation that left me in fits of giggles. It was a straightforward yet quintessential mix-up.
## A Humorous Miscommunication
A buddy of mine was placing a food order at a drive-thru. He meant to say “double cheeseburger,” but instead he blurted out, **”Can I get a trouble cheeseburger?”** The employee took a brief pause before responding, **”Sir, we don’t serve trouble here, only food.”**
The seriousness in the employee’s reply made it even more amusing. My buddy corrected his mistake swiftly, but by that point, we were laughing so much that he could barely get through his order.
