Best Choices and Beloved Items of 2020

It’s that special time of year! My favorite things list for 2020 is finally here, and I might be more thrilled about it than you! 🙂 I enjoy reflecting on the year to recognize my favorites…and then justify the purchases by crafting a blog post. Ha!

Let’s dive right in, shall we?

  • Hmm. Is it inappropriate to kick things off with a drink? I’m a massive fan of eggnog, but trying this Evan Williams eggnog at a family holiday gathering a few years back was a real game-changer! It’s potent (in my view), making it an excellent evening sipper!
  • This compact heater has quickly become my new best friend! I relied on an old one in my classroom for years, but it finally conked out. I adore this new one so much that I brought it home for my virtual teaching sessions. It oscillates, features two heat settings, and has a cool fan for when those hot flashes hit! Oy vey.
  • I know. It resembles a computer mouse. But this gadget! It’s a SILENT computer mouse! I keep my laptop in the living room, and I prefer to use it while we watch tv. Needless to say, the clicking noise was becoming bothersome. I feared this might not function correctly, but it’s fantastic!
  • I love the Raskog utility cart from Ikea to the point where I own three of them. Its versatility is limitless, and this green version simply had to be mine. Just because of the color.
  • This customized puzzle is such a favorite that I’m on the verge of purchasing my third one this year! It was the ideal way to keep us entertained during quarantine, and it has become a nostalgic activity during family gatherings!
  • Alright, let’s be real. I’ve been enamored with Victoria Emerson bracelets for quite some time. But when she launched Apple watch bands????? Every. single. time someone notices them on my wrist, I receive compliments. The one I have is shown above. And I may have just ordered another one.
  • I began adding this powdered collagen to my coffee about a year ago, and it transformed my hair noticeably. I was losing hair at an alarming rate, and it genuinely began to worry me—like panic-inducing worry. I mix one (flavorless) scoop into my morning coffee, and that intense shedding has ceased! Now I swear by this product.
  • My pale skin is always in dire need of a self-tanner during winter. My daughter uses this Isle of Paradise, and I “borrowed” it from her. It’s excellent! I suggest spraying it on and blending it with a daily moisturizer for optimal coverage, but it looks incredibly natural!
  • We recently had a shed constructed in our backyard, which motivated me to finally establish a cut flower garden (ten years after I initially wanted one, but who’s keeping count?) Floret Farm’s Cut Flower Garden book has been an essential resource for me! I have pages marked, lines highlighted, and notes jotted down…and honestly, the images are stunning!
  • For all my tall sisters out there, I saved the best for last. Long leggings! At 5’9″, with my legs making up about 5’7″ of that, I’ve always struggled to find leggings that are long enough without pairing them with tall boots. These leggings are fantastic! I bought the 34″ inseam, but they even go up to 36 inches! They are also high-waisted and fit beautifully. You’re welcome.

WHEW! Pretty sure all this typing has met my blogging quota for the year. I’m worn out. Ha! I really hope you found something from my list! If you’re curious about what my friends are recommending, here are some links for you! They’re certainly filling up my shopping carts, that’s for sure!
