Rosie was in charge here at Tabs the Cat Industries, LLC, and generally, she’s been a kind ruler, but a few days ago, a diminutive rodent tyrant took residence, or rather, moved onto the patio where the staff (essentially, just Marnie and Rosie) have their meals.
For the most part, Marnie and Rosie cooperate fairly well.
I mean, Rosie instructs Marnie on tasks, and Marnie does her best to comply… Bless her soul.
They had established a kind of agreement, and it was quite effective until that mouse appeared.
Now every time one of them ventures out there and attempts to nap beneath one of the wooden lettuce or tomato planters, the mouse begins scratching or scurrying around nearby, likely beneath the wood, and Marnie and Rosie can hear it, driving them crazy.
It’s unfortunate because Tabs would have never permitted an interloper to … undermine his authority like this.
There’s no way he would have shared leadership. 😹
