This year has been incredibly challenging for countless individuals.  Small retailers have endured substantial hardships, many clinging to the hope that Christmas will bring them prosperity, allowing us to continue enjoying their offerings.

If you shop from a large online vendor or marketplace, it’s uncertain where your money ultimately goes or where taxes are paid.  I know whose pockets I’d prefer my funds to fill.

Our UK economy needs us to reevaluate our spending habits.

The deal you just spotted on a massive online market might appear appealing.  However, saving a pound while the UK economy gains nothing from it is an irrational approach to shopping.

I have yet to find an independent shop (and I frequent many) that isn’t extraordinary.  I primarily shop online and consistently opt for independents.  They possess a distinctiveness and expertise that transforms the shopping experience into something much more enjoyable.  Their understanding of their products always reaches expert levels.

3 PERSONALIZED AND THOUGHTFUL SERVICE

More often than not, the individual assisting you and packing your order is the proprietor, or at the very least, one of a handful of employees.  They guarantee each customer receives the personalized service and attention they deserve.  Every order is handled with care and packaged thoughtfully.  A personal touch.

Another thing that baffled me is why purchase 20 inexpensive versions of something from China on a marketplace because they are cheap.  When in reality, you only required one.  Buy a single one from a reputable independent store; it will outlast and you’ll appreciate and enjoy your purchase far more.

Cease the bargain hunting; it’s genuinely a detrimental shopping approach.  Bargain hunting is harming this planet.  Stop it now!  Instead, find precisely what you desire, pay a fair price for it, and become a conscientious shopper.

7 A WIDE RANGE – SOURCING, SELECTION, AND CURATION HAVE BEEN HANDLED BY SOMEONE WHO KNOWS, SAVING US TIME.

They have assessed the products and therefore selected and curated what is appropriate for us.  Many of the larger online retailers have likely never seen or cared for the things they are selling as long as revenue keeps flowing in.
