Determining the Ideal Summer Ensemble

Determining the Ideal Summer Ensemble

Summer has begun, and four days in, the boys are already indulging in lime, mango, and strawberry popsicles. (Committing fully is the way to go, as my dad always says.) I’ve also been spotting vibrant street fashion — think bold colors and shiny nails — and here are a few outfit ideas to try as the days grow warmer…

1. Blue stripes paired with white pants create the timeless Cup of Jo uniform. I’m loving these stripes and these linen pants with patch pockets, plus playful accessories like a mesh bag or jelly slides (and a special treat for all readers: Enjoy 20% off at Anthro with code JOANNA20).

2. A white tee with block-print pants. Block prints, like this green and pink set, feel so refreshing and cool throughout summer. And isn’t this red and navy combination adorable?

3. A black and white dress is the picture of effortless chic for dinners and trips. Loving these three: silk, gingham, square neck.

4. White top with white bottom. So beautiful, especially with pintuck details and strappy sandals that wrap around your ankles. Here’s the skirt and shorts (JOANNA20 gets you 20% off at Anthro).

5. Scallops teamed with flip flops make a fun mix of feminine and sporty. (mini skirt; midi skirt)

6. Truly, flip flops go with…everything. I’ve been seeing these sleek options on women around town, and they apparently have a cushioned footbed for comfort on extended walks and adventures. I’ve also had success with this simple $34 pair.

Thoughts? What items are you pairing currently? Also, would you try this bra T-shirt? I’m actually kind of smitten with it. 🙂
