I find their dynamic quite tense — they don’t seem to truly know or like one another, aside from their shared background. “I recall times on vacations when you’d see female friends together, and you’d just think, ‘I can’t quite grasp what’s happening?’” creator Mike White told HBO. “And then one would depart, and the other two would begin talking. They’re triangulating in a way.” In the second episode, whenever one of the friends exited a scene, my friend Alison would glance at me and instantly mimic, “Well, I will say…”
5. Lastly, spa manager Belinda, who’s exploring wellness in Thailand, is a charming character but a bit… dull? The actress Natasha Rothwell is capable of being absolutely hilarious, and I wish they would leverage her comedic skills more.

Before last week, my boyfriend Freddie had never seen a single episode of The White Lotus (!) but he has courageously corrected that by binge-watching both the first and second seasons in just a few days.
