"Best Selections and Highlights of 2020"

It’s that time of the year again! I’m thrilled to share my favorite items from 2020 with you, and honestly, I might be more enthusiastic about it than you are! 🙂 Reflecting on the past year allows me to see what I genuinely adore… and then justify my spending by writing this post. Ha!

Let’s dive right in, shall we?

  • Hmm. Is it wrong to kick things off with a drink? I’m a massive fan of eggnog, and when I tried this Evan Williams eggnog at a Christmas family gathering a couple of years back, it was a total game-changer! It’s pretty strong (at least in my opinion), making it perfect for slow sipping all evening long!
  • This small portable heater has become my go-to! I’ve relied on an old one in my classroom for ages, but it finally gave out. I love this new one so much that I brought it home for my virtual teaching. It oscillates, has two heat levels, and even features a cool fan for when those sudden hot flashes strike! Oy vey.
  • I know—it resembles a computer mouse. But this thing! It’s a SILENT computer mouse! My laptop resides in the living room, and I prefer to use it while we’re watching TV. Understandably, the clicking sound was getting bothersome. I was skeptical about its effectiveness, but it works flawlessly!
  • I adore the Raskog utility cart from Ikea so much that I own three now. Its versatility knows no bounds, and this green one had to join my collection. Just because of its stunning color.
  • This personalized puzzle is such a hit that I’m about to order my third one within a year! It was a fantastic way to keep us entertained during quarantine, and it continues to be a sentimental activity during family gatherings!
  • Alright, hear me out. I’ve loved Victoria Emerson bracelets for ages. But when she introduced Apple watch bands????? Every. single. time someone notices them on me, I receive a compliment. The one I have is shown above. And I might have just bought another one.
  • About a year ago, I began adding this powdered collagen to my coffee, and the transformation in my hair has been incredible. I was experiencing significant hair loss, which genuinely worried me—like panic-inducing concern. One (flavorless) scoop in my morning coffee, and that extreme shedding has ceased! Now I swear by this stuff.
  • My pale skin always craves a self-tanner in winter. My daughter uses this Isle of Paradise, and I “borrowed” it from her. It’s fantastic! I recommend spraying it on and blending it with a daily moisturizer for optimal coverage, and it looks so natural!
  • We recently built a shed in our backyard, and it motivated me to finally plant a cut flower garden (ten years after I originally wanted one, but who’s keeping track?) Floret Farm’s Cut Flower Garden book has been an indispensable guide for me! I have pages flagged, lines highlighted, and notes written down… and let’s face it—the visuals are stunning!
  • For all my tall ladies out there, I saved the best for last. Long leggings! I stand at 5’9″, and my legs contribute to about 5’7″ of that height. I’ve always needed tall boots with leggings because I could never find any long enough. But these leggings are fantastic! I bought the 34″ inseam, which goes up to 36 inches! They’re also high-waisted and fit beautifully. You’re welcome.

PHEW! Pretty sure that typing has fulfilled my blogging quota for the year. I’m wiped out. Ha! I hope you found something from my list that peaks your interest! If you’re curious about my friends’ recommendations, here are some links for you! They are definitely filling my shopping carts, that’s for sure!
