Best Selections of 2020: Notable Mentions from Just a Girl Blog

It’s that moment of the season! My favorite items for 2020 post has arrived, and I believe I’m more thrilled about it than you might be? 🙂 I relish reflecting on the past year to discover what I genuinely cherish…and then justify the spending by creating a post. Ha!

Let’s dive right in, shall we?

  • Hmm. Is it inappropriate to kick things off with alcohol? I’m a massive fan of eggnog, but having this Evan Williams eggnog at a family Christmas gathering a few years back was a total revelation! It’s robust (in my view), so it’s an excellent thing to sip on throughout the evening!
  • This compact portable heater has become my new best companion! I’ve had an old one for years in my classroom, but it finally gave up. I adore this one so much that I took it home from school for my virtual teaching. It oscillates, features two heat levels, and even includes a cool fan for when those sudden heat waves strike! Oy vey.
  • I know. It resembles a computer mouse. But this gadget! It is a QUIET computer mouse! I keep my laptop in the living room, and I enjoy being on my computer while watching TV. To put it mildly, the clicking was becoming bothersome. I was concerned this wouldn’t function properly, but it’s amazing!
  • I adore the Raskog utility cart from Ikea so much that I own three of them. Its versatility is endless, and this green one had to come home with me. Purely because of the color.
  • This custom puzzle is such a beloved item that I’m about to order my third within a year! It was the perfect activity to help us through quarantine, and it has proven to be a sentimental activity at family gatherings!
  • Alright, hear me out. I’ve been a longtime admirer of Victoria Emerson bracelets. But when she launched Apple watch bands????? Every. single. time someone spots them on me, I receive a compliment. The one I have is shown above. And I may have just bought another one.
  • I began adding this powdered collagen to my coffee about a year ago, and it transformed my hair significantly. I was shedding hair like CRAZY, which started to genuinely worry me—like panic-inducing worry. I add one (flavorless) scoop to my morning coffee, and that drastic hair loss has ceased! Now I can’t do without this stuff.
  • My pale skin always requires a self-tanner during winter. My daughter uses this Isle of Paradise, and I “borrowed” it. It’s fabulous! I recommend spraying it and applying it with a daily moisturizer for the best results, but it looks so natural!
  • We recently constructed a shed in our backyard, which inspired me to finally establish a cut flower garden (ten years after I initially wanted one, but who’s counting?) Floret Farm’s Cut Flower Garden book has been incredibly helpful! I’ve marked pages, highlighted lines, taken notes…and let’s be truthful—the photos are stunning!
  • For all my tall gals out there, I’ve saved the best for last. Long leggings! I’m 5’9″, and I’d estimate my legs are around 5’7″ of that. I could never wear leggings without tall boots because I struggled to find them long enough. These leggings are fantastic! I purchased the 34″ inseam, but they go up to 36 inches! They’re also high-waisted and fit perfectly. You’re welcome.

PHEW! I’m pretty sure all this typing has fulfilled my blogging quota for the year. I’m worn out. Ha! I hope you managed to find something from my list! If you want to check out what my friends are recommending, here are some links for you! They certainly know how to fill up my shopping carts!
