Chanel Beauty Spring 2026 has launched and appears to be selling out quickly! I placed my order for everything without seeing it first as soon as it became available online. I shared swatches here and after testing these products for the last week, I finally have my thoughts. The collection is currently available at Chanel.com and Nordstrom.
If you’re still in search of anything that has sold out online at Chanel, each product page features a “Find in Boutiques” link. I clicked on it and it provides a list of the Chanel beauty boutiques that have stock available. Nordstrom also offers a store locator on each product page, so I suggest using that to check your local counters.
As a long-time admirer of Chanel beauty, I anticipated loving every item in this collection, but I feel there are some significant misses.
Rouge Noir Confidence Eyeshadow and Blush Palette
I had the highest expectations for the Rouge Noir Confidence Eyeshadow and Blush Palette ($95, Chanel and Nordstrom) but my feelings about its application are mixed. The two lighter shades apply nicely with a smooth and lovely finish, but they vanished from my skin almost immediately after application. The two darker colors apply very patchily and unevenly. Even with extensive blending, they did not come together well. I tried multiple methods since my skin tends to be dry right now, and I couldn’t make it work for my skin type even with added moisturizer and a hydrating foundation underneath.
I haven’t seen other reviews yet, but several of you have reached out to me about this. Half of you love it, while the other half mentioned experiencing some application issues as well.
Swatched beside Tendresse:
The colors are undeniably stunning and perfectly aligned with a lovely Valentine’s Day theme. For me, this is a pass. If the application isn’t flawlessly smooth or easy to blend, I’ll have to consider this a miss.
Ombre Essentielle
There are two new Ombre Essentielle Eyeshadow Singles ($42 each, Chanel and Nordstrom) that really stand out for me. I thought I would adore Brun Rose (a coppery rose shimmer) more, but Gris Rose (a lavender, grey, pink almost multi-chrome shimmer) astonished me with its pink flashes! I swatched these alongside a few other shades. They do share a similar vibe to last year’s collection but are different enough to warrant attention. I believe these are worth seeking out!
Rouge Noir Mascara and Eyeliner
I am a fan of a monochromatic color scheme, and I find the Rouge Noir packaging to be exquisite! The Noir Allure Rouge Noir Mascara ($45 at Chanel) is nice, but in my opinion, the Volume de Chanel Mascara is the superior formula when it comes to Chanel mascaras. The burgundy tint of the Rouge Noir shade doesn’t show up much on my lashes—it predominantly appears black.
The Stylo Yeux in Rouge Noir ($36 at Chanel) that I received in my order might be a dud; it also feels quite dry, applies patchily on the arm, and tugs at the eyes to the point of discomfort during application.
Les Pinceux Rouge Noir Brush Set
I was most excited about the Les Pinceux Rouge Noir Brush Set ($153 at Chanel) since I adore the accessories that Chanel beauty releases. This is a lovely set with well-made brushes. They do look more machine-cut than the full-sized ones, but they’re very soft and I genuinely like them. There are two eyeshadow brushes which I already own in full sizes. The cheek brush appears to be new and is extremely small. While I think it is usable, a larger, fluffier brush makes applying blush much easier.
Spring Lip Colors
The lip colors in this launch are incredibly bold and dramatic. They are all beyond my comfort zone, but I wanted to experiment with something new. The formulas deserve a 10/10 for the Rouge Allure Velvet ($53 at Chanel and Nordstrom). I picked up a mauve shade called Irreverente and a vibrant fuschia berry named Effrontee. Unfortunately, I feel both are too cool-toned for my complexion, but the formulas are an A+ as these are among the best velvet lipsticks I’ve ever tried.
The Rouge Allure Laque in Rouge Noir ($53 at Chanel) is a very dark hue that requires layering for a smooth finish. Since it contrasts sharply with my natural lip color, one coat leads to a very blotchy and uneven finish. Two coats help achieve a smooth application. This shade isn’t really for me, but given the cult following of Rouge Noir Le Vernis, I was eager to try it.
Baume Essentiel
A new Baume Essentiel in Cute ($50 at Chanel and Nordstrom) has been released. It’s a lovely lavender pink color but appears very sheer. I compared it to Lilas from a few years back. Cute is noticeably more pink, but since it’s so sheer, it doesn’t provide much color on the skin. I wish they had turned this into a lip gloss because the color is stunning! Like all previous Baume Essentiels, this one is balmy, dewy, and doesn’t dry down.
New Le Vernis Shades
Lastly, we have three new Le Vernis ($34 at Nordstrom) shades to look at. Performer is a bright raspberry pink, Moderniste is a deep cool gray, and Rouge Noir is a dark burgundy. I swatched them all with two coats. They’re beautiful creams, but don’t seem to fit the spring color story, and except for Rouge Noir, I don’t find myself drawn to these colors.
This concludes my Chanel Spring Beauty haul. Overall, there were mostly misses for me, primarily because the color story isn’t quite aligned with my preferences, as I usually gravitate towards warmer and brighter shades. The two eyeshadow singles were the only products that genuinely impressed me in terms of formula and color, but I know many of you were excited about this launch, so if you love it, please don’t let my review dampen your enthusiasm!
