This is how I envision my blogging journey. I plan to spruce up my home, and then I hope someone will handle taking and editing all the photographs for me. Is that asking too much? 🙂 I absolutely adore decorating for the holiday season, and there’s something so comforting about it, don’t you think? Sooo I had to share.
Step into my black and green-themed Christmas office, which doubles as my new classroom. Believe me, it doesn’t usually look this way. The combination of this office desk and leather chair perfectly complements the dark bookshelves.
I kept the color scheme quite simple this year (surprise!). Those hues bring me the greatest joy, and I suppose that’s the point, isn’t it? I discovered the garland at a consignment shop for $12 a few years back. I added some ribbon, and it finished off the look beautifully!
This is officially the year of the candle for me. Apparently, they are my go-to this year? This console table is my favorite for decoration because it instantly transforms the room’s ambiance!
This is the view from my kitchen while I bake cookies, of course. Ha! People frequently ask about this mirror (similar) and my rug! I simply adore them both!
Since I’ve been home more (thanks to virtual teaching-yay), I had a bit of extra time to set up another Christmas tree. I placed this flocked tree in my bedroom, and I might never take it down! (Just kidding.)
The ornaments were all clearance items from Kirkland’s last year, and I bought the tree from At Home. I love the combination of colors!
I’m pretty convinced this is my favorite tree ever…and only my husband and I see it. Go figure. 😉 I do have a few more areas to showcase, but these are our primary spots. I hope you enjoyed the tour! If you’d like to see more lovely spaces, pleeeease check out my friends’ homes too!

Title: The 2020 Christmas Tour: Marking the Holidays Amidst a Global Crisis
Introduction
The Christmas season of 2020 stood out as unprecedented in recent memory. With the world coping with the COVID-19 pandemic, customary holiday celebrations were reimagined to prioritize safety while capturing the festive essence. This article examines how the Christmas tour of 2020 adjusted to the hurdles presented by the pandemic, emphasizing inventive methods for holiday festivities, traveling, and community involvement.
Virtual Celebrations and Events
A prominent change during the Christmas season of 2020 was the transition to virtual celebrations. With social distancing mandated, numerous traditional activities such as Christmas markets, concerts, and church services moved online. Platforms such as Zoom, Facebook Live, and YouTube became vital for hosting virtual Christmas gatherings, enabling families and friends to connect securely from their homes. Virtual explorations of renowned Christmas sites, including the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree in New York City and Europe’s Christmas markets, offered individuals a chance to savor the season’s magic without leaving their homes.
Drive-Thru and Outdoor Experiences
To adhere to safety regulations, many communities hosted drive-thru Christmas happenings. These featured light exhibitions, nativity displays, and Santa meet-and-greets, allowing families to partake in festivities from the safety of their cars. Outdoor activities, like socially distanced ice-skating rinks and open-air Christmas markets with limited attendance, offered extra options for those seeking in-person holiday engagements.
Travel Restrictions and Staycations
Travel during the Christmas season of 2020 faced significant challenges due to restrictions and quarantine mandates. Many individuals chose staycations, exploring local sites and supporting nearby businesses. For those who opted to travel, road trips grew in popularity, enabling families to steer clear of crowded airports and maintain control over their surroundings. Lodgings such as holiday cabins and vacation rentals provided secluded retreats for those yearning for a change of environment.
Community Support and Acts of Kindness
The tribulations of 2020 led to an enhanced emphasis on community support and acts of kindness during the Christmas season. Numerous individuals and organizations coordinated food drives, toy collections, and virtual charity events to aid those in need. Neighbors looked out for one another, with initiatives like “Secret Santa” gift exchanges and holiday card deliveries lifting spirits in communities.
Conclusion
The Christmas tour of 2020 illustrated the resilience and ingenuity of individuals around the globe in adapting to extraordinary circumstances. While traditional celebrations evolved, the core of the holiday season—spreading joy, nurturing connections, and promoting kindness—remained unchanged. As we look back on this distinctive Christmas, it serves as a reminder of the significance of adaptability and community spirit in overcoming obstacles.
