The bar’s decor is progressing well, and I’m enjoying discovering inventive ways to showcase items we cherish! Two of our favorites: Proper Twelve Irish Whiskey (his) and candles (mine). So, I fused those two elements together (literally) and created some candle bottle decor that I adore.

Supplies for Melted Candle Decor:

Whatever you decide to do, ensure you lay aluminum foil beneath the bottles. I might have learned this lesson the hard way.

I discovered this box of candles at At Home. Candles measuring 10-12 inches will do. To fit the candles into the bottles, apply a lighter to the candle’s base to warm it slightly. After a few seconds, insert it into the bottle and twist while gently pressing down. You’ll notice it pushes the candle in and helps to straighten it.

Here’s where challenges arise. Nowadays, taper candles are designed so they don’t drip everywhere. Kudos, modern candle makers. Thanks for improvement—but it complicates things. 🙁

There are several methods to encourage the wax to drip down the sides. Essentially, you’ll need to create a channel for the wax to flow down. After experimenting, I found that lighting another candle to melt said channel while also using wax from the candle in hand yielded the best results.

No worries if that was confusing. Just know you need to assist the candles in making the wax drip. Using a lighter or another candle works best. Melt it until you achieve the desired appearance, and you’re set!

I’m absolutely thrilled with how they turned out! It’s exactly the masculine candle bottle decor I needed for my shelves. I’m eager to share more of the bar area with you! Don’t forget that I post plenty of updates on Instagram if you’d like to follow along!
