"Highlights from the 2020 Christmas Tour - Just a Girl Blog"

This is the way I envision my blogging experience. I want to embellish my home, and subsequently have someone else capture all the images and tweak them. Is that really too much to wish for? 🙂 My enthusiasm for Christmas decorating is immense, and I cherish that warm atmosphere, you know? Sooo I felt compelled to share.

Step into my black and green Christmas workspace—or as I like to call it, my new classroom. Believe me when I say it doesn’t typically appear this way. The office desk paired with the leather chair creates a fabulous match with the dark bookshelves.

This year, I opted for a very simple color palette (surprise!). These colors bring me the utmost happiness, and I suppose that’s the essence of their purpose, right? I discovered the garland for just $12 at a consignment shop a few years back. I added some ribbon to it, completing the aesthetic!

I’ve dubbed this the year of candles. Evidently, they have become my favorite this year? This console table is a go-to for decoration as it instantly transforms the ambiance of the room!

Here’s my perspective from the kitchen. Naturally, I’m baking cookies while enjoying the view! Ha! I’m frequently asked about this mirror (similar) and my rug! I adore both!

Since I’ve been spending more time at home (thanks virtual teaching), I found a bit more time to set up another Christmas tree. I placed this flocked beauty in my room, and it might stay up forever! (Just kidding.)

The ornaments were all clearance from Kirkland’s last season, and the tree was found at At Home. I adore the color combination!

I’m pretty convinced it’s my all-time favorite tree…and only my husband and I get to see it. How ironic. 😉 I still have a few more spots to showcase, but these are our primary areas. I trust you enjoyed the tour! If you’re interested in exploring more beautiful spaces, please check out my friends’ homes as well!

Moreover, she illustrated how to weave in metallic details, like gold and silver, to infuse a bit of sparkle into the decor.

### 2. **Homemade Holiday Decorations**

The *Just a Girl Blog* Christmas Tour highlighted several simple and cost-effective DIY decoration concepts that readers could mirror in their own homes. From handcrafted ornaments to custom wreaths, the blog offered detailed instructions for crafting personalized holiday decorations.

One of the tour’s standout DIY projects was the “Rustic Christmas Ornament” guide. This project was not only budget-friendly but also provided a fun activity for families to partake in together.

### 3. **Festive Tablescapes**
No Christmas gathering is complete without a beautifully arranged table, and the 2020 Christmas Tour excelled in that area. Chris shared her techniques for creating stunning holiday tablescapes that were both practical and festive. The blog showcased a variety of table settings, spanning from classic red-and-green themes to more contemporary and minimalist styles.

A key takeaway from the holiday tablescape segment was the value of layering. Chris illustrated how to layer various components—such as chargers, dinner plates, and napkins—to achieve a visually engaging and cohesive arrangement. She also emphasized the incorporation of natural elements, like pinecones, greenery, and candles, to enhance the warmth and texture of the table.

### 4. **Christmas Tree Inspiration**
The Christmas tree often serves as the focal point of holiday decor, and the 2020 Christmas Tour displayed an array of stunning tree designs that catered to various preferences and styles. Whether readers favored a traditional tree adorned with red and gold ornaments or a more modern setup with minimalist decorations, the blog offered ample inspiration.

Among the most memorable trees from the tour was the “Winter Wonderland” tree, featuring a monochromatic palette of white, silver, and light blue. Adorned with frosted ornaments, snowflake garlands, and faux snow, the tree encapsulated a magical wintery vibe. Chris also offered her insights on achieving a full and balanced tree, suggesting the use of a mix of large and small ornaments and incorporating ribbon for additional texture.

### 5. **Creative Gift Wrapping Ideas**
Gift wrapping is an art form in its own right, and the 2020 Christmas Tour shared innovative ideas for presenting gifts beautifully. Chris encouraged readers to think beyond conventional wrapping paper and explore a variety of materials, such as kraft paper, fabric, and even newspaper.

One of the highlight gift-wrapping concepts from the tour was the “Nature-Inspired Gift Wrap.” This approach involved using natural elements like sprigs of evergreen, pinecones, and dried orange slices to adorn wrapped gifts. The outcome was a rustic and eco-conscious appearance that was both stunning and sustainable.

### 6. **Virtual Holiday Gatherings**

The *Just a Girl Blog* Christmas Tour recognized this new norm and provided tips for hosting unforgettable virtual holiday gatherings. From establishing a festive background for video calls to organizing virtual games and activities, Chris supplied pragmatic suggestions for maximizing virtual celebrations.

A key piece of advice was to send care packages or holiday treats to friends and family before the virtual get-together.
