Hoping You Have a Delightful and Fun Weekend

What’s in store for your weekend? Anton and I have been in England visiting family, and we’re returning home tomorrow. (Can’t wait to hug Toby and my mom, who have been in Brooklyn together!) Hope yours is great, and here are some links from the web…

The ideal spring sweater.

Have you tried Imposter? The boys and I have become quite enthusiastic about it.

Things every New Yorker should know. “If you’re making pizza at home, your local pizza place might sell you some dough if you ask.” True, and it’s typically just $5! (New York Magazine)

Patchwork drapes.

The most attractive chapstick alternative.

Oooh, wouldn’t you love a hotel designed for walking? (NYTimes gift link)

Curious about Dan Levy’s latest show on Netflix. (It currently holds a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes.)

Artichoke gratin toasts.

My friend insists on outdoor rugs for her kids’ room, and now I’m considering it for my own bedroom.

Cherry-blossom season, captured by 11 photographers. (Vogue)

And these dog sledding photos are amazing. “Like the dogs, I didn’t quit. And I was efficient at checkpoints, those camps or villages along the way where teams can rest and resupply. I could get through tasks: preparing straw beds for the dogs, removing their booties, lighting the methanol cooker, melting snow, thawing meat, serving stew, tucking the dogs under blankets, massaging their muscles… Checkpoints are where most mushers lose time, even if their dogs are fast: The sleeping bag’s too tempting, and the booties’ ice-crusted Velcro sticks to itself when your hands are fumbling cold.” (NYTimes gift link)

Magic exists in the world. (from the movie Boyhood, through Handpicked and Tiny Revolutions)

Finally, how stunning is our editor Kaitlyn Teer’s kitchen garden? (Big Salad gift link)

Plus, two reader comments:

Midge says on have a beautiful weekend: “I’m hosting a Menopause Party! It will be my exact 365th day without a period, so I invited three dozen women over for cake and Champagne. The theme is black polka dots, because I’m putting a period on the period of my life with periods. I am tearful at having them in my home — colleagues, besties, my Pilates instructor, my current and former bosses, my book group, former PTA friends — and getting to stand up in front of all these women I love and admire, who will be part of my next chapter.”

Faith says on stuff I just love: “I love when I see an adult eating ice cream outside, without kids. It makes me so happy, like, yes, treat yourself! Your younger self would think you’re living your best life being able to have ice cream whenever you wanted.”
