The bar’s decor is progressing, and I’m enjoying the search for imaginative ways to showcase items we cherish! Two favorites of ours: Proper Twelve Irish Whiskey (for him) and candles (for me). So I combined these two loves (literally) and created some candle bottle decor that I adore.
Supplies for Melted Candle Project:
No matter what you do, be sure to put aluminum foil beneath the bottles. I might have learned this lesson through experience.
I discovered a pack of candles at At Home. Candles that are 10-12 inches long will do. To insert the candles into the bottles, warm the bottom of the candle with a lighter. After a few seconds, place it in the bottle and twist gently while pushing down. This will help you get the candle in straight.
This is where the issue arises. Modern taper candles are designed so they don’t drip everywhere. Kudos, contemporary candle makers! Your improvements have made things trickier. 🙁
There are several techniques to encourage the wax to drip down the sides. Essentially, you need to create a channel for the wax to travel. After several attempts, I found that lighting another candle to assist in burning this channel while simultaneously using wax from the candle I was holding worked best.
If that sounded confusing, don’t worry. Basically, you just need to assist the candles in getting the wax to flow. Using a lighter or another candle is the most effective method. Melt it to your preferred look, and you’re all set!
I am extremely happy with how they came out! It’s precisely the masculine candle bottle decor I wanted for the shelves. I can’t wait to show you more of the bar space! Remember, I share plenty of updates on Instagram if you’d like to follow along!
