“I began experiencing contractions around 8 p.m.,” Jannelle recounts…
This is her narrative:
Two hours later, the contractions are arriving quickly and intensely. We call my mother to rush over and look after our older children, while my husband Max and I hop into our vehicle.
While en route to the hospital, however, my water breaks. I realize we might not reach in time. As we accelerate towards the hospital entrance, Max rushes in to seek assistance and a wheelchair. But when he comes back, I can’t hold on any longer. ‘I NEED TO PUSH!!!’ I yell at him. I’m still in my pants but I can feel her head emerging!
Max pulls down my pants and exclaims, ‘Oh my god, she’s here! You’re doing an amazing job!’ And with one more push, Evelynn Angelica Sanchez makes her debut at 11:54 p.m in the front seat OF OUR CAR.
‘You did it!’ Max cheers, ‘You did it!’ The baby starts crying immediately, which is a tremendous relief since we have no idea what we’re supposed to do. Security personnel rush over, along with two nurses finishing their shifts, and everyone is like, ‘Well done, Mama, you’re incredible, she’s gorgeous!’ Then labor and delivery nurses flood out of the hospital; they wrap her in a cozy blanket, place a hat on her, and lay her on my chest.
This tiny girl has only spent a couple of weeks in this world, and she’s already given Max and me one of the wildest experiences we’ve ever had. Thankfully, everyone is healthy and sound, and now we’re all back home, completely in love with her. Welcome to our family, Evelynn; we’re thrilled to share our lives with you.
