On a recent trip to London, I observed a burgeoning trend where coffee establishments from various global locations are making their debut in the city (more on this in my next post, God willing). We’ve already seen some Dubai eateries such as Kinoya, The Maine, Shangai Me, Gaia, and Somewhere, establish themselves in London’s upscale districts.
In a bid to join the fray, Voyage from Dubai Mall has now set up shop in London – conveniently located near the renowned Harrods store in Knightsbridge, adjacent to the Binghatti showroom.
Upon our arrival, we encountered a queue – which, if you’re unaware, is rather uncommon in London unless at an Instagram-worthy culinary hotspot; however, the majority of those waiting were from the Middle East, a scene familiar in Riyadh. For our friends, this was a rarity. After approximately 30 minutes of waiting, we were finally granted entry, all seven of us.
The café boasts a significant space for a London venue, and I believe they have yet to fully optimize the interior; I suspect they might introduce additional seating downstairs soon.
The interior design closely resembles that of the Dubai Mall location – orange clay walls paired with lounge-style seating; while their menu leans more towards trendy beverages (think matcha, etc.), it still features specialty coffee and pour-over options, accompanied by an array of delicious cakes.
The pistachio cake is a must-try – it was delightful, and we ended up ordering three.
I opted for a cortado, crafted from Colombian coffee beans.
I appreciated that it had a satisfying kick.
Their brew bar mirrors the one in Dubai, featuring a Kees van der Westen espresso machine, and there’s a display of cakes and coffee beans to smell as well.
After two hours of catching up, we made our way to the Binghatti showroom (one of Dubai’s premier real estate developers) and had a brief conversation with one of the sales representatives about the Mercedes building being constructed by Binghatti in Dubai.
