The new year is here, bringing with it the tradition of new year’s resolutions. I chatted with some kitty pals, and one recurring resolution is about getting fit.
Believe it or not, despite my impressive physique, fitness is actually something I have to strive to achieve. This body doesn’t just appear effortlessly.
Well… most of it does, but I do need to put in the effort, and I’m a firm believer in that, particularly in the quest for purr-fection.
As a token of appreciation for you, my cherished fans, here are my top tips to get in superb shape in 2016.
Walking is effective!
Don’t listen to the myths: it’s not solely about high-intensity workouts. While all that thrilling stuff is fantastic — like running, CrossFit, and aerobics — I personally prefer straightforward walking. There’s no need for an extravagant gym subscription or a lot of equipment; just you, a stretch of road (or a treadmill) and a willingness to break a sweat.
I Apple TV
The best part about the new Apple TV ($149) is the apps. It’s just like the iPhone and iPad but for your TV. An app store brimming with various apps is available, including the standard ones — Netflix, Hulu, YouTube — along with a plethora of games, cooking apps, and those for art, fashion, and fitness.
So many apps!
One app I particularly love is called Sing. There’s an iPhone version where users can sing karaoke-style to various songs while recording themselves using the camera, which you can then watch on your TV.
It’s a blast! Some really get into it. I’m having my assistant install the mobile version on my iPhone so I can practice my vocal skills.
Additionally, there are fantastic kitty (and human) fitness apps available for Apple TV like Zova, with new options being released daily.

Audible — Ooh! I absolutely adore Audible! I highly suggest an Audible subscription for both entertainment and fitness. Thanks to Audible, I’ve managed to consume a plethora of books lately, as I can listen to them on my iPhone while multitasking, like working on my fabulous figure.
The $14.95 Gold level monthly subscription provides one credit per month which can be used to acquire any audiobook you desire, plus members enjoy a 30% discount on additional audiobooks, making it quite a bargain.
I share a subscription with my assistant since we enjoy many of the same titles…
Netflix — You’re likely already familiar with Netflix, but did you know they offer a mobile app? You can use it to stream Netflix on the go using your tablet or phone.
Sometimes I use it while on the treadmill because it really helps the time pass. I can break a good sweat while catching up on my telenovelas…
Spotify — There are a multitude of music streaming services out there, but I primarily enjoy Spotify for their genre and mood stations, such as the Britney Body Workout, Vinyasa Flow, and the Nike Running Tempo Mix, which are like really great playlists.
Then, after I finish exercising and want to focus on my memoirs for a bit, I switch on the Deep Focus station to stimulate my creative mindset…
