YSL Beauty presents some of the most beautiful limited-edition packaging with their holiday collection this year! I purchased the Golden Oasis Couture Face Palette ($85) along with the latest shades of Loveshine Plumping Lip Oil Gloss ($40) and Candy Glaze Lip Gloss Stick ($43).
Golden Oasis Couture Face Palette
The Golden Oasis Couture Face Palette is housed in a gorgeous limited-edition mirrored compact featuring six cheek colors. Among these, three are shimmering highlighters, and three are blushes, including two shimmers and one matte. In my opinion, among all the recent blush releases, the YSL Make Me Blush formula stands out due to its soft, blendable texture and shades. Original review here. Some of the shades closely match individual colors I already own. The peachy shimmer is reminiscent of Restless Rose, while the rose pink shimmer is strikingly similar to Nude Lavalliere.
This palette includes a delicate peachy gold shimmer, a light gold shimmer, a soft iridescent pink sparkle, a rose shimmer blush, a deep magenta matte blush, and a warm copper gold shimmer.
The highlighters have a significant shimmer factor, so if you prefer low-shimmer options, I’d suggest choosing a different face palette.
I truly love this one. It seems to encompass everything necessary for a holiday appearance, plus the shimmers can also be worn on the eyes.
New Holiday Lip Colors
There are two new shades of the Loveshine Plumping Lip Oil Gloss: 100 Sparkling Dream and 12 Honey Moon. I tested these earlier this year and reviewed them here. The colors and shine are wonderful, but the plumping effect is quite strong, making the sting and tingle a bit much for me. I gave them another try since the colors are SO gorgeous, but I still find them uncomfortable to wear alone. However, when layered over a lipstick, the base lipstick serves as a buffer, making the plumping gloss more tolerable. All shades swatched in this video here.
As a Candy Glaze aficionado, I’m ecstatic they’ve introduced new shades in this specific formula (original review here). 21 Shimmer Nude is a lovely pale opalescent champagne beige that appears quite light against my complexion. 22 Shimmer Rose is the must-have shade, in my view. It’s an incredibly beautiful soft rose pink. Although it’s currently sold out online, I highly recommend utilizing the Buy Online Pick Up In Store option – it’s an excellent way to guarantee you’ll get the products you want and conveniently collect them later. I also rely on it to ensure my local store has stock before heading there in person. By popular demand, I compared a few rose tones with other Candy Glaze shades. I particularly adore the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer in 083 Sparkling Rose, which is a slightly warmer take on the YSL 22 Shimmer Rose (though in gloss form).
Overall, I adore everything color-wise in this collection. I still can’t wear those plumping lip glosses comfortably, but the colors are absolutely stunning, a solid 10/10. If you choose just one item from this launch, I believe Candy Glaze 22 is the standout choice.
