They’ve introduced a lightweight matte lipstick named the Signature Lip Blush ($28 each, available at Sephora and Merit). It’s a sheer, minimalist lip product that offers a diffused matte finish. The formula is indeed very light as claimed but still manages to provide a balmy sensation.

I sampled two shades sent via PR: Andie, which is the most beautiful baby pink, and Vendome, a lovely beige tan. I adore both colors and feel they’re ideal for daily wear. I also still appreciate Archival as a lovely mauve that leans cool without appearing blue. I paired each lip look with the Merit Flush Balm Cream in Le BonBon.

However, there are a few drawbacks. If you prefer color payoff or longevity, these might not be the lipsticks for you. The pigments in the shades I tried are quite sheer, and while you can apply layers for increased coverage, they still remain very sheer. They resemble a blotted lip stain but more translucent. The staying power isn’t impressive for me, although I have yet to test them with a lip liner. I suspect this is because of the balmy quality. It’s not a dealbreaker for me, but I wanted to note it since I know many prefer something with excellent staying power requiring only 1-2 touch-ups throughout the day.
For a matte lip, I usually lean towards something offering more opacity, though I genuinely like the shades I tried. I find the formula extremely comfortable and easy to wear. Additionally, I appreciate that it provides some hydration, ensuring my lips don’t dry out.
