Components of a Larry David Sandwich

Components of a Larry David Sandwich

The other evening, we were enjoying Curb Your Enthusiasm — one of the top comfort shows — and, in the episode, Larry’s neighborhood deli named a sandwich in his honor. Here’s the significant moment:

Jeff: “I stopped by Leo’s Delicatessen. Guess what’s listed on the board? A fresh sandwich called the ‘Larry David.’”

Larry: “Really? No way.”

Jeff: “I swear. I swear.”

Larry: “Leo dedicated a sandwich to me? You’re joking!”

Jeff: “Absolutely.”

Larry: “I’m really on the board?”

Jeff: “You’re on it.”

The only issue? Larry dislikes his sandwich. The ingredients consist of whitefish, sable, cream cheese, capers, and onions, and he’s “more of a pastrami, corned beef person…not exactly a fish enthusiast.”

So! My question today is, if you had a sandwich named after you, and it was a delicious one, what would be in it? Mine would be a grilled cheese with Dijon mustard; or maybe a classic bodega egg-and-cheese. On a hot summer’s day of quick lunches, I’d love to hear yours. xo

Here are a few more, if you’d like some ideas:
* Swiss melt with tomatoes
* Chickpea sandwich
* Fried fish sandwiches
* Shrimp rolls
* Giant egg patty sandwich
* 10-minute salmon sandwich
* Kitchen sink sandwich
* Grilled cheese salad
