Constantly searching for new coffee adventures during my visits to London, I stumbled upon two new spots and want to share one of my favorites.
2 Love Coffeehouse, 89 St John’s Rd, London SW11 1QY
Situated at the junction of St Johns Road and Battersea Rise, a mere 5-6 minutes’ walk from the lively Clapham Junction station, 2 Love Tea and Coffee primarily highlights their coffee selections on the menu. I’ve frequented this place a few times; if I manage to sneak out before the day’s agenda is set, I can enjoy a delightful flat white. As you step inside, an enticing display of cakes greets you on the left, hard to resist even for cake haters. I must admit, I have passed these by occasionally but have also given in to their red velvet and carrot cake on other occasions.
I often stop by for a robust flat white and tend to grab some coffee to take back to Dubai as well.
They have their exclusive blends for espresso drinks and also offer Monmouth coffees along with selections from other roasters in London.
The Coffee Guild, 106 Walton Street, Oxford OX2 6AJ
During our son’s master’s graduation, after a long day without specialty coffee, I was thrilled to find this coffee shop as we made our way to the celebratory dinner across the street. While everyone headed to the restaurant, I had to pause for a quick drink after noticing the La Marzocco Linea espresso machine – I might sound like a caffeine addict… Regardless, it was worthwhile, as a double espresso powered me through the rest of the day.
On our return after dinner, my brother couldn’t resist ordering a latte, and I bought a bag of their espresso blend.
Two notable features stood out at this coffee shop.
First, when was the last time a café in England was open past 6pm? I can only recall one, Watch House in Bloomsbury, London. Intrigued, I asked the owner, who revealed they stay open until 11pm… yes, you heard that correctly. I’m almost certain no other coffee shop in England remains open this late.
Secondly, the owner and staff were so cheerful that I almost wanted to give them the title of “happiest coffee shop in England.” Their enthusiasm for serving coffee and informing me of their 11pm closing time was incredibly uplifting.
Highly recommend.
Treelogy Coffee, 50 Eastbourne Terrace, Paddington, London W2 6LG
I must admit that when a London friend suggested we meet here for coffee and a chat, I had some reservations – probably due to the name. I was close to suggesting another place, but knowing our time was limited, I opted to check them out instead.
Yes, I saw images of latte art, but I wanted to dig deeper. So, I arrived a bit earlier than my appointment to scope the place out. Unlike most London coffee shops, aside from the stylish Watch House, this one felt rather corporate, positioned at the base of a newer office building adjacent to the recently upgraded Paddington station. After watching the barista and reviewing their coffee choices, I decided on a cortado.
It was delightful, and perhaps I shouldn’t judge a coffee shop by its setting…. Ha!.

Whether you’re a dedicated enthusiast or simply in need of a caffeine boost during a stopover, the city boasts an abundance of distinctive coffee experiences. 2. Kaffeine
Drawing inspiration from the coffee scenes of Australia and New Zealand, Kaffeine is a must-visit for anyone craving a taste of Antipodean coffee culture. Located in the heart of Fitzrovia, this independent coffee shop is known for its outstanding espresso-based beverages and creative food offerings. The baristas at Kaffeine are passionate about their craft, ensuring every cup is brewed to perfection. The shop’s lively and cozy atmosphere provides a wonderful setting for relaxation and rejuvenation. Make sure to try their famous piccolo latte, a small yet flavorful coffee that delivers a sharp impact.
3. The Attendant
For an exceptionally unique coffee experience, visit The Attendant, a coffee shop located in a transformed Victorian public restroom. Found in Fitzrovia, this quirky venue maintains many of its original elements, including the ornate ceramic urinals, which have been ingeniously converted into seating areas. Despite its unusual backdrop, The Attendant is serious about coffee, featuring a variety of expertly crafted beverages made from ethically sourced beans. The welcoming staff and eclectic decor create an unforgettable atmosphere, making it an ideal place for a quick coffee break. Sample their signature cold brew, a refreshing choice that emphasizes the intricate flavors of their carefully chosen beans.
