During my recent trip to London, I observed a new phenomenon where coffee shops from various corners of the globe are establishing themselves in the city (more on this in my upcoming post, God willing). We’ve already seen several restaurants from Dubai such as Kinoya, The Maine, Shangai Me, Gaia, and Somewhere, making their mark in London’s upscale areas.
To keep up, Voyage from Dubai Mall has made its debut in London – conveniently located near Harrods in Knightsbridge, right beside the Binghatti showroom.
Upon our arrival, we encountered a line – which, if you’re unaware, is quite rare for London unless it’s a trendy Instagram-worthy eatery; nonetheless, most individuals in the queue were from the Middle East, a common sight in Riyadh. However, it felt unusual for our friends. After about 30 minutes, we were finally allowed in, all seven of us.
It’s a rather spacious venue for a café in London, and I believe they have yet to fully utilize the interior space, with potential plans for seating downstairs soon.
The design resembles that of the Dubai Mall location – featuring orange clay and lounge-style seating, and while the menu leans more towards trendy beverages (like matcha), it still offers specialty coffee and pour over options, along with a variety of delicious cakes.
The pistachio cake is a must-try – it was delightful, and we ended up ordering three.
I opted for a cortado made with Colombian coffee beans.
I appreciated that it had a nice kick to it.
Their brewing counter mirrors the one in Dubai, featuring a Kees van der Westen espresso machine, and they also have a display of cakes and coffee beans for aromatic sampling.
After catching up for two hours, we strolled over to the Binghatti showroom (one of Dubai’s leading property developers) and briefly conversed with a salesperson about the Mercedes building that Binghatti is constructing in Dubai.
