On my recent trip to London, I observed a burgeoning trend, where coffee shops from various regions around the globe are now establishing themselves in London (more details on this in my next entry, God willing). Notably, several restaurants from Dubai, including Kinoya, The Maine, Shangai Me, Gaia, and Somewhere, have set up in London’s upscale neighborhoods.
In a bid to keep up, Voyage from Dubai Mall has recently launched its London location – conveniently situated near the renowned Harrods store in Knightsbridge, adjacent to the Binghatti showroom.
Upon our arrival, we encountered a line – which, if you’re unaware, is quite atypical for London, except for a trendy Instagram-friendly eatery. However, the majority of the people waiting were from the Middle East, a scene commonly seen in Riyadh. This was a novel experience for our local friends. After about 30 minutes of waiting, we were finally granted entry, all seven of us.
The café is impressively spacious for a London establishment, and I believe they have yet to maximize the indoor area; it seems they may be considering additional seating downstairs in the near future.
The interior design mirrors that of the Dubai Mall venue – featuring orange clay and lounge-style seating. Their menu, while leaning towards trendy beverages (matcha, etc.), also includes specialty coffee and pour-over options, as well as an array of delicious cakes.
Make sure to sample the pistachio – it was delightful and we ended up ordering three.
I opted for a cortado made with Colombian coffee beans.
I appreciated that it had a bold flavor.
Their brew bar resembles the one in Dubai, featuring a Kees van der Westen espresso machine alongside a display of cakes and coffee beans for guests to savor the aroma.
After two hours of reconnecting, we strolled to the Binghatti showroom (one of the leading real estate developers from Dubai) and chatted briefly with one of the sales representatives, discussing the Mercedes building currently being constructed by Binghatti in Dubai.
