Currently, my heart is captivated by Dior Beauty, and the summer collection has truly left me in awe. Most items seem to be limited-edition and the daisy compacts have sold out in numerous locations (I suggest checking your local counters or boutiques if you’re still on the hunt for them).
Here are the specifics on everything I added to my collection, highlighting the hits and misses.
Forever Nude Bronze Glow
The Forever Nude Bronze Glow Bronzing Powders ($60 each, Dior, Sephora and Selfridges) are presented in the most stunning compact I think I’ve ever seen. The craftsmanship on these makes them worth the splurge in my opinion.
This season’s shades are quite similar and seem to share names (and numbers) with previous releases. I don’t own Coral Bronze from earlier seasons, but I do have Pink Bronze and it looks identical on my skin.
Coral Bronze is just a tad warmer on my skin while Pink Bronze is more neutral. Both give a luminous finish on me. There is an overspray on top, but beneath it still retains a hint of glow. I compared swatches next to some existing Dior Forever Nude Bronze shades (review here).
I truly adore these and have no regrets about the splurge, but if you already own Dior bronzers from prior releases, you can skip these if you’re looking to avoid duplicates/dupes.
Forever Glow Luminizer + Glow Maximizers
This launch features two highlighters. The Forever Glow Luminizer in Sun-Kissed is a radiant champagne gold with micro sparkles ($60, Dior and Sephora). It’s gorgeous, although I find the color and finish akin to other Dior highlighters.
Sun-Kissed appears less intense in the frost compared to Nude Halo (champagne), and because Sun-Kissed leans peachy/golden, it complements my tanned skin tone beautifully.
The Forever Glow Maximizer in Sunburst ($47, Dior, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s) is another exquisite champagne gold. This one has a sheerer frost/shimmer compared to other products in this formula. I pulled the neutrals to swatch them side by side. Sunburst is warmer and the sheerest of them all. Tiny glittery specks appear on the skin, but they are subtle.
Eyeshadow Palettes
This collection includes two eyeshadow palettes. I grabbed the neutral one 670 Sunset Bronze ($75, Dior, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s) and it is pure perfection. You can see swatches of the blue one in my highlights here. 670 Sunset Bronze comprises all shimmers. They have a smooth finish, blend easily, and the colors genuinely resemble a sunset.
Diorshow Flash Stick
The product that has generated the most curiosity is the new Diorshow Flash Eyeshadow Stick ($42 each, Dior, Nordstrom, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Ulta Beauty). I have mixed feelings but want to preface that I hold very high standards for eyeshadow sticks and how they compare to Laura Mercier or Bobbi Brown, particularly with shimmers.
For some reason, a lot of cream shadows from other brands simply do not perform well on my lids. After blending, they often seem to fade away. This is the case with these new Dior Shadow Sticks for me. They swatch magnificently on the hands but once applied to my eyes, they sheer out. They do appear on my eyes, just without the same intensity once blended.
I genuinely love the Beige Tulle, which is a shimmery champagne (very sparkly). I prefer more impact or color. I believe these are worth exploring, but just because they didn’t impress me doesn’t imply they are subpar. I simply tend to avoid many cream shadow sticks.
Addict Lip Maximizer
There are five new Addict Lip Maximizers ($42 each, Dior). Some shades seem to be exclusive to Dior.com, but you can find some colors at other retailers like Nordstrom and Macy’s.
I find them all beautiful, but I would say 053 Golden Hour and 072 Cerulean are a miss for me. Golden Hour is extremely frosty and pale in an unflattering way, while Cerulean is fun and trendy but not the best match for my lips.
Nail Polish
Finally, we have a look at two new Dior Vernis Nail Colors ($34 each, Dior, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Nordstrom) for summer.
Sunset is a shimmery champagne gold that leans more gold than champagne and closely matches my skin tone. I think it’s a lovely shade!
Azur is an exciting pool blue with a slight shimmer in the bottle, but it applies more like a cream.
Overall, a stunning collection. I’m thrilled that after all these years, Dior continues to release full seasonal beauty collections alongside their mini launches.
Did you purchase anything from this launch? What are your thoughts?
