Unveiling Fresh Hues: Pocket Blush and Peptide Lip Tint from Rhode

Rhode has unveiled new hues of their Pocket Blush ($25) and Peptide Lip Tints ($20 each), which are ideal for spring. As a dedicated admirer of the cream blush, I grabbed both shades along with the latest lip gloss colors to experiment with.

Pocket Blush – fresh shades

The Rhode Pocket Blushes are likely my two most frequently used cream blushes. I adore them for their effortless pop of color to the cheeks. The hues are flattering and they blend seamlessly. They’ve accompanied me on many travels!

Teacup is a mauve raspberry pink and Candy Apple is a vibrant reddish pink. Both shades appear bold when swatched, but due to their blendability, you can certainly manage the pigment for a more natural blush effect. Both new shades are definitely a win for me. I believe Candy Apple is a truly lovely flattering red.

Peptide Lip Tints – fresh shades

I’ve had quite a few mixed feelings regarding the Peptide Lip Tint. It’s been some time since I’ve used one as I discarded most of mine a year ago when we relocated to Miami. I underwent a significant decluttering and discovered that many had developed that peculiar gritty texture. Reviews I have encountered attribute it to temperature variations, but out of caution, I got rid of them. I have since purchased fresh new ones. More recent reviews suggest this issue has been resolved, and so far, it appears to be true!

Time will reveal how the formula holds up, but I genuinely like the new shades. Sweet Pea is a warm sheer pink. I think it’s quite akin in vibe color-wise to Patrick Ta’s Major Moisture Smoothing Hydrating Tinted Lip Balm in Pink Salted Caramel (the Rhode version is glossier with a glass-like shine). Rhode refers to Sweet Pea as “pearly,” but for some reason, I don’t perceive any shimmer or iridescence in mine.

Pretzel is a shimmery mauve. It is labeled as “warm,” but on me, it definitely isn’t warm. It trends more neutral or cool-toned against my skin, yet it’s still quite beautiful. This shade also stays on the medium-sheer side but possesses enough pigment to be visible on the lips. I gathered the glosses I have along with one from Patrick Ta for side-by-side swatching below:

Overall, I adore the blushes! The new gloss shades are stunning, but I still need to assess how they perform against temperature changes. If you have recently purchased one of the Peptide Lip Tints, please let me know if yours has developed any gritty particles as well!
