Chanel has transformed their legendary gloss into a new creation known as the Rouge Coco Hydra Gloss ($45 each). As a long-time admirer of Chanel, I was absolutely delighted to be invited to preview these at the Chanel Beauty Boutique in Brickell, Miami.
Readers of OG beautylookbook may recall that Chanel inspired my very first blog entry back in 2009 with the Celestial Lights Glossimers (RIP). Chanel Beauty will always occupy a cherished spot in my heart. To those who have remained with me, thank you so much! My younger self could never have imagined this would evolve into my profession.

The new Rouge Coco Hydra Gloss exceeds my expectations! I never thought they could surpass the previous formula, yet they have. It’s bittersweet that so many lovely shades have been discontinued, and I continue to hope they will reintroduce some original shades from years past (like Seashell, Unity, Blizzard, etc.). The new formula is similar to the last one but definitely enhanced. It feels smoother with a slightly lighter texture. Very hydrating without slipping off the lips. Glossy with an impressive shine. I personally find the pigment to be a bit more opaque with most shades I tried.
The Chanel team gifted us three shades in a pouch at the event, but due to my lack of self-discipline, I ended up purchasing several to take home. I believe every single shade is wearable. I still have a few more on my wish list, but for now, here’s a look at what I acquired.

I am completely obsessed. I already look forward to more colors being released in future collections. They also have new Le Vernis nail colors and the Summer Nights Collection available. I’m unsure when I’ll get to swatch or review those, but I believe the nail colors are truly stunning.
