The Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Collection has just launched at Chanel, and I’m here to share my first impressions of the makeup products today. There are three items included in this rollout, and they are stunning.
Les 9 Ombres Eyeshadow Palette in The New Smoky
The new eyeshadow palette, named Les 9 Ombres Eyeshadow Palette in The New Smoky ($132), features neutral cool shades. It contains an array of satin, shimmer, and sparkle finishes. When applied with a loose, fluffy brush, the pigmentation appears quite sheer. However, using a denser brush like the rephr 02 or rephr 28 results in better coverage. I find that using a creamy base helps with adhesion (something similar to the Rhode Pocket Bronzer on the lids works well for me).
The colors appear neutral in the palette, but on my warmer tan olive skin, they lean very cool-toned. For me, this acts as a contemporary smokey palette since it has a slightly more rosy and taupe tone.
I personally adore the finish and overall appearance, although the shades are cooler-toned than what I typically wear.
Rouge Coco Lipstick 165 Crush
A new Rouge Coco Lipstick called 165 Crush ($54) has been introduced. It appears significantly cooler-toned compared to the online images I’ve come across. On me, it’s clearly a cool mauve with slight gray nuances, and it’s fascinating how it seems more rosy on individuals with cool or light-fair skin tones.
The hue is gorgeous in the tube, but since I can’t wear cool tones on my lips, it turns out looking quite gray on me. Many of you have requested comparisons of the new Rouge Coco Crush with Flying Cloud and Mademoiselle. In swatches, Flying Cloud seems to have a bit more pink, while Mademoiselle is warmer. On my darker pigmented lips, they all appear quite similar.

Le Vernis 469 Coco
I believe the highlight of this launch for me is the Le Vernis 469 Coco ($34). I’m a fan of pale milky pink, and this shade is more of a medium-light milky pink. I would categorize this with a neutral undertone and it provides full coverage. I still needed two coats to even it out, but I truly love the shade.
