The Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Collection has officially launched at Chanel, and today I’m sharing my thoughts on the makeup items included. This release features three stunning makeup products.
Les 9 Ombres Eyeshadow Palette in The New Smoky
Introducing a new eyeshadow palette in neutral cool tones called Les 9 Ombres Eyeshadow Palette in The New Smoky ($132). This palette includes a combination of satin, shimmer, and sparkle finishes. When applying with a loose fluffy brush, the pigmentation appears somewhat sheer. However, using a denser brush such as the rephr 02 or rephr 28 provides a more intense coverage. To help the pigments adhere, I find it necessary to use a creamy base (the Rhode Pocket Bronzer on the lids works well for me).
The colors seem neutral in the palette, yet on my warmer tan olive skin, they lean quite cool. For me, this resembles a contemporary smokey palette with a slight rosy and taupe influence.
I genuinely appreciate the finish and overall appearance, though the shades are cooler-toned than I usually wear.
Rouge Coco Lipstick 165 Crush
There is a new Rouge Coco Lipstick named 165 Crush ($54). It appears significantly cooler-toned compared to the online images I’ve viewed. On my lips, it manifests as a distinctly cool mauve with subtle grey undertones, and it’s intriguing to see it look more rosy on those with cool or light-fair complexions.
The color is gorgeous in the tube, but since cool tones don’t suit me well, it appears very grey against my complexion. Many of you have requested comparisons between the new Rouge Coco Crush and Flying Cloud and Mademoiselle. In swatches, Flying Cloud seems to have a touch more pink while Mademoiselle is warmer-toned. On my more pigmented lips, they pretty much all appear similar.

Le Vernis 469 Coco
The standout piece for me in this launch is the Le Vernis 469 Coco ($34). I adore a pale milky pink, and this shade is a medium-light milky pink. I would categorize it as having a neutral undertone, and it offers full coverage. I did need to apply two coats to even it out, but the color is stunning.
