Westman Atelier has recently introduced several exciting new products, and today I have a summary of my testing experiences!
Baby Cheeks New Hue – Fizz
Westman Atelier occasionally releases products exclusive to her online store, and the latest addition is the Baby Cheeks Cream Blush Stick in Fizz ($48). I did a brief demonstration last week, and it’s already sold out, but I hope it comes back in stock eventually. Fizz is a vibrant warm pink. While Fizz shares a similar brightness with Poppet, this new shade is warmer and slightly brighter, making it more flattering for my golden/olive skin tone.
It blends to create a more natural flush. In terms of color, I find it reminiscent of Saie’s Dew Blush in Flirty and Rhode Pocket Blush in Juice Box (review here). It was also swatched alongside Hourglass Unreal Liquid Blush in Whim (review here), Prada Touch Blush in Tulip (demo here, review coming soon), Dior Rosy Glow Blush Stick in Ultra Pink (review here), Saie Dew Blush in Flirty, and Merit Blush Balm in Le Bonbon (in action here).
Performance is consistent with all of Westman Atelier’s Baby Cheeks. Super long wear may not be achievable in humid climates or on oily skin, but it holds up better with a layer of powder on top. I believe this formula is excellent for those with dry skin.
HydroBalm Sheer Tinted Lipstick
I’m a fan of any lip balm release, so I was thrilled to try her HydroBalm Sheer Tinted Lipsticks ($50 each). I found them a bit too sheer for my liking, and I may have chosen shades that didn’t quite suit my skin/lip tone. I ordered them without seeing them first, and while I do think the formula is lovely, some shades were too cool-toned or light for me.
I posted swatches on Instagram and a brief review here. I was amazed at how many of you enjoy this barely-there tint in your lip color! I mentioned these in my review, and I was shocked by the number of DMs I received from you expressing your love for them.
I do like Pop and Juice. The pinks I picked are true neutrals, but these shades tend to appear quite grayish or blue against my complexion. If you’re fair or light-skinned and struggle to find colors that suit you, Westman Atelier’s HydroBalm line may be a great fit!
Nectar is a sheer sparkly pale peach gold
Juice is a sheer peach
Ballerine is a cool mauve pink
Pop is a sheer red
English Rose is a mauve
Lip Shape Defining Lip Liner
I also have swatches of the Lip Shape Defining Lip Liners ($34). I really enjoy this formula because it’s a traditional pencil—neither overly stiff nor too creamy or gel-like. Occasionally, I prefer a classic pencil to outline my lips. They apply smoothly and have excellent longevity.
Petal is my favorite among the shades I tested, followed closely by Je Reve. However, I noticed that the shades appeared more neutral or cool-toned on me compared to the images online. I didn’t do lip swatches for these, but you can see Petal here.
Overall, there are some lovely new launches from Westman Atelier. The formulas are exceptional, and the performance rates a perfect 10/10. For the lip balms, I just wish there was more pigmentation and that some warmer pink tones were available.
P.S. I recently acquired the Sun Tone Bronzing Crème in Soleil Parfait 2 during the Sephora sale. I’ll be swatching it soon!
