Dior Beauty has completely captured my attention lately, and the summer collection has genuinely taken my breath away. It appears that most items are limited-edition, and by now, the daisy compacts are sold out in numerous locations (I suggest checking your nearby counters or boutiques if you’re still on the hunt for them).
Below are the specifics on everything I acquired, including both hits and misses.
Forever Nude Bronze Glow
The Forever Nude Bronze Glow Bronzing Powders ($60 each, Dior, Sephora, and Selfridges) are presented in the most exquisite compact I believe I have ever encountered. The detail on these compacts makes the splurge justifiable, in my view.
Both shades this season are quite similar and appear to be repeats in terms of names (and numbers). I don’t possess Coral Bronze from past seasons, but I do have Pink Bronze, which looks identical on my skin.
Coral Bronze is very slightly warmer on my complexion, whereas Pink Bronze leans more neutral. Both deliver a luminous finish on me. There’s an overspray on the surface, but underneath remains a bit glowy. I swatched these alongside existing Dior Forever Nude Bronze shades (review linked here).
I genuinely adore these and have no regrets about the splurge, but if you already own Dior bronzers from earlier seasons, you might want to skip them to avoid duplicates.
Forever Glow Luminizer + Glow Maximizers
This launch includes two highlighters. The Forever Glow Luminizer in Sun-Kissed is a luminescent champagne gold with micro sparkles ($60, Dior and Sephora). I find it beautiful, even if I notice the color and finish are similar to other Dior highlighters.
Sun-Kissed appears less sharp in the frost compared to Nude Halo (champagne), and additionally, because Sun-Kissed is more peachy/golden, it’s softer on my tanned skin tone.
The Forever Glow Maximizer in Sunburst ($47, Dior, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s) presents another stunning champagne gold. This one has a sheerer frost/shimmer compared to others from this formula. I decided to swatch the neutrals side by side. Sunburst is warmer and the sheerest of the bunch. It has tiny glittery specks on the skin, but they remain subtle.
Eyeshadow Palettes
This collection features two eyeshadow palettes. I chose the neutral one, 670 Sunset Bronze ($75, Dior, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s), and it is simply perfect. Swatches of the blue one can be seen in my highlights here. 670 Sunset Bronze contains all shimmer shades. They have a smooth finish, are easy to blend, and the colors truly resemble a sunset.
Diorshow Flash Stick
The product you all seem to be most curious about is the new Diorshow Flash Eyeshadow Stick ($42 each, Dior, Nordstrom, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Ulta Beauty). I have mixed feelings but want to express that I hold very high standards for eyeshadow sticks and their comparison to Laura Mercier or Bobbi Brown, particularly with shimmers.
For some reason, many cream shadows from different brands do not appear well on my lids. Upon blending, they often seem to fade entirely. This issue also occurred with these new Dior Shadow Sticks for my eyes. They swatch BEAUTIFULLY on the hands, but once applied to my eyes, they sheer out. They do show up on my eyes; they just lack the same vibrancy once blended.
I genuinely enjoy the Beige Tulle, which is a shimmery champagne (very sparkly). I prefer more intensity or color. I believe these are worth exploring, though, just because I wasn’t completely impressed doesn’t mean they’re inferior. I simply tend not to wear many cream shadow sticks.
Addict Lip Maximizer
There are five new Addict Lip Maximizers ($42 each, Dior). Some shades seem exclusive to Dior.com, but you can find certain colors at other retailers like Nordstrom and Macy’s.
I find them all beautiful, but I’d say 053 Golden Hour and 072 Cerulean are passable for me. Golden Hour is extremely frosty and pale in an unflattering manner, while Cerulean is trendy and fun but not the most flattering for my lips.
Nail Polish
Finally, we take a look at two new Dior Vernis Nail Colors ($34 each, Dior, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Nordstrom) for summer.
Sunset is a shimmery champagne gold that leans more towards gold than champagne and closely matches my skin tone. I think it’s a lovely shade!
Azur is an exciting pool blue with a hint of shimmer in the bottle but applies more like a cream.
All in all, a beautiful collection. I truly appreciate that after all these years, Dior continues to introduce full seasonal beauty collections alongside their limited releases.
Did you pick up anything from this release? What are your thoughts?
